Why should you work at Applied Marketing Science?

What will make you successful at AMS?
Anyone we hire needs excellent interpersonal, analytic and computer skills. Proficiency with WINDOWS-based computer
programs and the Internet is also required. Below are descriptions of our “core” positions and the appropriate
experience and qualifications for each. We welcome resumes of qualified people at all levels whether or not we

Project Director
Project Directors at AMS lead small teams in designing research and measurement strategies, conducting the research, analyzing and interpreting the data, and presenting findings to clients. Project Directors must have an interest in, and aptitude for, solving business problems and be adept at handling “big picture” issues as well as project detail. Excellent writing, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate for a Project Director position will have demonstrated experience (e.g. 3-5 years and/or an MBA or other relevant advanced degree) managing qualitative and quantitative market research and/or consulting projects.
Analyst
Analysts support Project Directors in executing client consulting and market research projects in both litigation support and new product development. Responsibilities include questionnaire writing, database management and data analysis, and report and presentation production. An Analyst will typically work on several projects simultaneously, and must have excellent organizational abilities and communication skills. Generally Analysts join AMS as recent college graduates (business degree preferred) with market research experience in the classroom or on the job. Working knowledge of SPSS is a major plus.
Account Executive
Account Executives are experienced consultants, with considerable expertise in market research, who can sell and manage his or her own portfolio of business for our Product and Service Design group. Account Executives must speak well on the phone, deliver credible sales presentations, design projects, write compelling proposals, and then close the business and manage the client service team in delivering the engagement. In addition, there are opportunities for writing and speaking at various new product development venues. An ideal candidate would have some background (a minimum of five years relevant work) in new product development, market research, or a related field, or experience in a particular industry that is active in new product development (medical devices, telecommunications, etc.). An advanced degree (MBA or masters degree in psychology, sociology, statistics or some other quantitative field) is preferred.
