AMS Co-Founder John Hauser Named Head of Management Science Area at MIT Sloan School

Applied Marketing Science is pleased to announce that company co-founder and MIT Professor John R. Hauser has been named Head of the Management Science Area at MIT's Sloan School of Management. In this role, Professor Hauser will be responsible for several key areas of the school: marketing, operations management, operations research, statistics, and information technology. He is also head of the Virtual Customer Initiative at MIT's Center for Innovation in Product Development.

Dr. Hauser has co-authored two textbooks, Design and Marketing of New Products and Essentials of New Product Management, and was formerly Editor-in-Chief of Marketing Science. He has published over fifty scientific papers and has received numerous honors, including the Parlin Award for contributions to marketing research, the Converse Award for contributions to the science of marketing, three INFORMS awards for the best paper of the year in the marketing sciences, and an AMA award for the most significant contribution to the practice of marketing.

Dr. Hauser has consulted for a variety of corporations on product development, sales forecasting, marketing research, voice of the customer, defensive strategy, and R&D management. He is also senior consultant to Applied Marketing Science, and has provided expert witness testimony regarding marketing research and sales forecasting.
