“Quality Function Deployment: A Practical Guide” (1 day)

This 1-day course, designed to follow “Listening to the Voice of the Customer” as either a third consecutive day of training or as a separate session introduces product development teams to Quality Function Deployment (QFD), which remains the most effective method for translating customer needs into product specifications.

The course is highly interactive, relying primarily on in-class exercises and case examples, including construction of two House of Quality matrices – one on a generic product and one on a product in the team’s portfolio.

During the sessions, participants will learn:

  • What is the underlying purpose of QFD
  • How to structure a product team for QFD
  • How to develop good performance measurements/CTQ
  • How to complete and interpret the House of Quality
  • How to make QFD as quick and painless as possible

At the end of a session, we expect your team to equipped and ready to begin work on its own Voice of the Customer and/or QFD initiative. While we do offer ongoing coaching and consulting to those teams that request further assistance, unlike other practitioners we do not expect our training clients to engage AMS on an ongoing basis.
